Service Description

Instructor: Mandy Greenfield This workshop is for those who want to progress with, or begin their own manuscript in a live workshopping format (novella, book length or short story collection) with a focus on two aspects: - A weekly reading (provided by the instructor) - In-class workshopping of participants own pieces (voluntary) This writing program offers inspiration to individuals who wish to learn about writing as a process and experiment with new approaches and modes of creativity. Participants will grow as a writer, hone their creative skills, and deepen their passion for the writer's craft. Participants explore numerous creative strategies for writing fiction during this six-week, writing-intensive course. The course is ideal for those who have an interest in creative writing and modern literature, are not afraid to experiment with structure, and want to develop a daily writing practice. Participants write daily, within and following the workshop meetings with writing assignments that provide useful skills, and multiple ways to explore the craft of writing. The assignments are discussed in a workshop setting where students receive supportive feedback from the group leader and peers. Students will also discuss and analyze various selections of fiction or non-fiction, exploring the techniques used by authors. Please note: A journal will be provided to you. We suggest bringing writing materials and dressing comfortably. Wine/Cheese/Snacks are always welcome, and we wish to produce a shared safe space/community with one another to discuss our love of writing. This is a judgement free zone. Non-fiction and fiction writers alike are welcome! Covid Policy To keep our guests and staff safe: - Masks are required indoors regardless of vaccination status.
