Service Description

Do you love the patchwork aesthetic that’s all over social media? Are you looking for ways to embrace your grandma-core without committing to a full sized quilt? Join me for a beginner workshop where you’ll learn foundational patchwork techniques, tips and terminology and discover what YOU can do with a patchwork block. In this class we will create a Patchwork Tote featuring a variation on the Jewel Box quilt block which incorporates two fundamental block units found in a multitude of traditional quilt blocks to give you a great start on your patchwork journey. You’ll learn the essentials through hands on practice, then create your own patchwork block to finish your tote bag project. Bring your sewing machine, we'll provide the pattern and materials. Supplies: - You will need to purchase the Starter kit from the instructor on class night - $16 (cash). The kit contains fabric (4 fat quarters), tote bag, and pattern/instruction hand out. Students can select from 2 colorways, Blues or Brights - Sewing machine (make sure you know the basics of how to thread the machine and wind the bobbin) - Neutral or coordinating thread - Scissors - Rotary cutter and mat (if you have one) - Notebook and pen
